Our story
Starting our farm in Readfield, Maine has been a wild and fun family adventure. Our initial interest in farming was born out of a desire to know more about our food; where it came from and how it was raised. We wanted to raise our own organic meats using what we consider to be best farming practices: rotational grazing, grass fed, pasture raised, regenerative agricultural practices, and without the use of hormones, antibiotics, or GMO grains. You are what you eat, and it’s important that the animals you consume had the most nutritious and healthy diet possible.
Deciding what types of animals we wanted to raise and learning about their care has been a great experience for our whole family. Our passion has grown every year as we add more and more animals to the farm. Providing the best quality, fabulous tasting, and most healthy meats for our family and the local community is our mission. Happy and healthy animals make the most delicious and nutritious meats.
Today, we raise beef, pork, poultry, and lamb on our farm. All of our animals are rotated on pasture so they don’t harmfully impact the land. Instead, they groom it, fertilize it, and move on to the next pasture to do the same. In doing this, we not only preserve the land but actually improve it and improve the soil health. We also utilize our animal manure to fertilize our hay fields, bringing our farm full circle!
We pride ourselves on the quality of life that we provide for our animals. Our entire family pitches in to operate our farm and do the work that goes into raising animals using these methods. We love creating the perfect environment for our animals, our family, and our community to grow together.
